Two of the films in which Shah Rukh starred as a leading actor have been India's entry in Hollywood's Oscars. Paheli (2005)has been nominated for the 2006 Oscars. Devdas (2002) was an earlier nomination. Shah Rukh also appeared in a third Oscar entry, as a supporting actor in Hey Ram (2000). See List of India's official entries to the Oscars.
He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2004.
